Web search

Lucy can search the web for current information such as news, prices and regulation changes.

Admin, Web search: who may use it.

Only the search query text the model writes. No conversation, no files, no personal data beyond what the query itself contains. The query goes to Mistral’s global search endpoint, which is outside the EU-pinned one used for model answers. That is why web search is off by default.

Setting Meaning
off (default) Nobody
everyone All members
selected Only the people and groups an admin grants

People and individual conversations can turn it off for themselves, never on beyond what the organisation allows. Each search is recorded in the cost ledger and shown in Usage.

Use web search when the answer depends on today’s world, not on your documents.

Job Say this Why it needs search
Regulation watch “What changed in the latest CSSF circular on outsourcing, and what does it mean for our register?” Recent publications are not in any model
Counterparty check “Summarise recent news about Kestrel Logistics and flag anything that touches sanctions or insolvency.” Current events
Market context “What is the current ECB deposit rate, and when is the next meeting?” Live figures
Verify a claim “Check this vendor’s claim that they are ISO 27001 certified. Show me the sources.” External evidence
Prepare a briefing “Give me a one page briefing on the new EU AI Act obligations for high-risk systems, with sources.” Fresh, cited facts

Lucy cites its sources so you can check them. Combine it with your documents: “Compare our policy to the latest guidance and list the gaps.”

If a question involves confidential details, ask Lucy to search for the general point, not the specific client. Only the query text leaves, so write queries you would be comfortable putting in a search box.

Admin → Web search. Choose the mode. For selected, add people and groups.
